About the author
Hello, my name is Kerrin Ehrlich. I currently live in a small town in Austria, but I am originally from South Africa, so my mother language is English. I was inspired to write an English book for children when I worked as a native speaker at the local kindergarten. When researching material to read during kindergarten sessions, I had problems finding books in English suitable for my requirements. It was important to me, that the story line was not too complicated and applied to most children living in Austria. In addition, the pictures shown should mirror what was happening in the text, so the child can understand the story content easily and make a connection between the objects in the pictures and the relevant word.
My goal is that through reading or listening to the stories, the children become comfortable with the English language and are not shy to use the words they have heard or read.
About Ashley
My dog Ashley, the main character in the books, is an English Staffordshire bullterrier. She is 12 years old and has very kindly supplied me with so much material, that I was able to write two books full of true adventures and funny stories about her, family and friends.
‘Honest Ashley´s funny side of life’ and ‘Honest Ashley´s fun adventures’ are the first two English books from the author Kerrin Ehrlich. Each book contains 5 chapters of delightfully funny stories about Ashley, an English Staffordshire bullterrier, and her family. The stories depict the life of Ashley while she is getting to know her family and the various activities that they take part in, in a small town in Austria.
Honest Ashley´s stories can be enjoyed by both young and old. If you are learning English, teaching English to children or just want to hear about a funny dog and her family, Honest Ashley will definitely make you smile!
The illustrations of Ashley and her family were brought to life by the incredible talented artist Cristiana F. Moncada.

‘Honest Ashley´s funny side of life’ focuses on Ashley and her family, during the autumn and winter months in Austria.
Ashley experiences and learns something new in each chapter. The reader doesn´t just get to know and love Ashley and her family but is, at the same time, learning the English language. Vocabulary covering colours, numbers and winter clothing are all playfully included in the story line.
The beautifully illustrated pictures further support the understanding of the story and the individual words.
Honest Ashley's fun adventures
‘Honest Ashley´s fun adventures’ accompany Ashley as she grows during the spring and summer months in Austria.
As in the first book there is a variety of English vocabulary this time covering food, animals and professions, playfully woven into the story line.
Ashley cannot wait to tell you all about her adventures that include her falling into the pool and visiting the vet.
As in the first book each story is beautifully described with an illustration capturing all the fun.
